So you think you should continue building web apps for mobile and don't need a native app?
This year I got the chance to use Passbook properly for the first time with flights for my family on holiday. It worked pretty well, but there’s still work to do.
While I was on holiday I had no mobile data access for several days. Interestingly, my Apple Watch was barely useful during this time. I could track my activity, tell the time… but not much else that helped me day to day.
When I fixed access to mobile data on my phone it all changed; Siri timers, weather, VIP mail and iMessage notifications all made themselves felt on my wrist. Furthermore TripAdvisor, weather and maps make the watch into a must-have travel accessory.
You may not yet be familiar with our new app Hobson. It is literally a funny little app. I’m going to quickly take you through the anatomy of Hobson, to demonstrate the lengths to which one can polish what seems like even the most simple iOS app. Because even “small” apps deserve to be great, and there is great joy in the detail.
